Hi Readers, Hope you are doing well, This is Mayank and Today I am writing about Salesforce and different aspects of it as a developer or someone who wants to pursue it in their career. This blog will give you an estimated Idea of Salesforce, its cloud, and its different Roles

What is Salesforce?

Salesforce is a CRM cloud service. CRM is the ‘Customer relationship management’ acronym, powered by the cloud. However, now it provides various cloud CRM services including Health cloud, Commerce cloud, Service and Sales cloud, and many more. There are many CRM services in India like Zoho, LeadSquare, and Oracle CRM. Salesforce is the leading CRM provider among all.

Different Roles in Salesforce

As we talked about what Salesforce is, as a global company there are multiple roles in Salesforce which are 3 Types in Nature. These 3 types have a hierarchy of junior, senior, or associate. and they have different aspects in different clouds. For example, if we talk about Commerce cloud which is two types 1) B2B and, 2) B2C, for B2B in Salesforce there are B2B Commerce Admin, then B2B Commerce Developer, and then B2B Commerce Consultant or Architect

• Consultant & Architect

Do not get confused with the Idea of so many different clouds and then different roles, Let me make it easier for you, if you start your career in Salesforce you have to go through the Admin training first which is the basics of all the point and clicks tool available in Salesforce. when you have an idea of all the tools and settings in the Admin then you can install the packages for different types of cloud, for example you have a mobile phone (here Salesforce Cloud) now you need to work on some applications so you just install it and work on that field or app. for the Salesforce if you are completed your admin Training then you can upgrade to any Admin Role in any cloud under salesforce, like if you want to work on B2B Commerce cloud then just Get the package of B2B commerce cloud, you have to modify some setting you already know where they are, you will be quickly adapt the changes, Booom You are B2B Commerce Admin, Same for the other clouds.

Now moving on to Developer, After you know what are the admin and all the tools in admin which involve around security, profiles, and different type of Standard and custom Objects. you have to learn to make custom pages and views of your Salesforce cloud. for this, you have to learn 3 programming languages. 1) Apex (Java Based language), 2) Javascript, and, 3)HTM and SLDS. same as admin there are different types of developers like B2B Commerce Developer, CPQ Developer, or Salesforce Developer, All these require the same training for developers you just have to upgrade your skill to those clouds which you are working on.

And last but not least, Consultant and Architect, if you see all the Salesforce cloud employees known as Salesforce consultants as they are working on the CRM of Salesforce. but in a separate way, Consultants are those people who have knowledge of Salesforce working and CRM, talk with clients and get their requirement and note it down for the development of the project. In a subtle way, the person who involves in all the meeting with the client and has their requirement discussed and deal with changes forwarding to their team knows as a consultant, definitely, they are Team Lead, or Manager or maybe Project Head. The same goes for architects, their responsibility is to design and write the way in which the project will be completed, they are the ones who interact with clients on Different technical aspects and changes. They play an important role during the project discovery phase where the client and development team interact with each other to get their views on UI/UX and different types of functionalities.

As we talked about admin, developer, and consultants, there are many other roles in Salesforce and they are the same as in some other companies, You will get an Idea by Role name so I am not discussing it here.

Different Clouds in Salesforce

Salesforce has a lot of varieties in the cloud, be it commerce, health, billing, sales and service, or Marketing.

• 1. Sales Cloud
• 2. Service Cloud
• 3. Marketing Cloud
• 4. Commerce Cloud
• 5. Community Cloud
• 6. Health Cloud
